The Gateway RV Park is CLOSED for the 2019 season.  We will re-open May 1, 2020.  

2020 Reservations can be made starting 10/25/2019.

There is a two week stay limit for all RV sites and a one week stay limit for the group tent site.  You must vacate the park for at least a week before you may stay again.

No tents on RV sites 1 - 19. Tents are only allowed in the Group Tent Site.  

Please note that we have 30 AMP Service ONLY!

Please be advised that for the 2020 season, we will be enforcing a 3-night minimum stay on Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July Weekend, Mountain Fair Weekend (July 24-26), and Labor Day Weekend.

Gateway RV Park owned by the Town of Carbondale, is situated above the Roaring Fork River just west of the Highway 82 & 133 intersection on the northern entrance into Carbondale. The RV Park entrance is on Highway 82, approximately 1-mile west of this intersection.

Carbondale is located within the heart of the Central Rocky Mountains in the Roaring Fork Valley. We're located 170 miles west of Denver and 30 miles northwest of Aspen.
Carbondale is also the “Gateway” to one of the most scenic drives in all of Colorado,
The West Elk Scenic & Historic Byway.

The Town of Carbondale’s Gateway RV Park has breathtaking views of Mount Sopris. The park was purchased with funding from Great Outdoors Colorado, Garfield County, the Division of Parks & Wildlife and the Town of Carbondale.

The Gateway RV Park is located just above The Bob Terrell State Wildlife Area that has an easily accessible boat ramp offering float fishermen great access to the Gold Medal Fishing Waters of the lower Roaring Fork River. There are a number of outdoor recreational activities in the area including rafting, kayaking, hiking, road & mountain biking, climbing, fishing, and golf.

Carbondale is home to both the Roaring Fork and Crystal Rivers. It is only a few short minutes from both the Colorado and Frying Pan Rivers. Some of these rivers are Gold Medal Waters renowned for their amazing trout fishing and beautiful scenery.

Additionally, these rivers offer outdoor enthusiasts a great place to enjoy whitewater rafting, kayaking, or just lazy afternoon float trips.

Carbondale offers miles and miles of hiking and mountain bike trails just across the highway from the RV Park within the BLM Red Hill Special Recreation Management Area. The RV Park is also located alongside the paved Rio Grande Trail that stretches 44 beautiful miles from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. This paved bike path is perfect for families who enjoy biking, jogging, walking, roller blading, cross country skiing, and more. Additionally, there are miles of nearby hiking and biking opportunities on National Forest and BLM lands that border Carbondale.
